October is "Golftober" at Metro Parks Courses With Family Golfing Package

Monday September 27, 2010

While the temperatures outside are finally cooling off, Metro Parks is heating up this fall by offering an affordable family golfing package at its nine golf courses during October weekends.

For only $20, a family of up to four members can play 9 holes at any Metro Parks course. The $20 includes greens and carts fees, and families can take advantage of the deal after 4 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during October.

“This promotion makes golfing affordable for the whole family,” said Marty Storch, assistant director of Metro Parks. “And, during October, there are five weekends this year – families have an extra opportunity to take advantage of this low rate.”

The golf special is available on the weekends of Oct. 1-3; Oct. 8-10; Oct. 15-17; October 23-25 and Oct. 29-31.

Metro Parks golf courses are open from daylight to dark seven days a week, and each course has a fully stocked pro shop. Private lessons are available from a PGA Professional at each clubhouse. Metro Parks operates 9-hole golf courses in Cherokee Park and Crescent Hill Park, along with Waverly Park’s Bobby Nichols Golf Course. There are 18-hole courses in Iroquois Park, Long Run Park, Seneca Park, Shawnee Park, Sun Valley Park and Charlie Vettiner Park.
