Metro Parks Hosting Pitch, Hit and Run Competition
Wednesday March 9, 2011
The home of the Louisville Slugger might produce the next Major League Baseball superstar this spring through the annual Pitch, Hit and Run Competition, hosted by Metro Parks Athletics.
The Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run Competition for area youth will be held at Wyandotte Park on Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The competition, which is free, is for boys and girls ages 7-14. The program is designed to provide area youth with an opportunity to compete in a skills competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball and softball skills.
Participants have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including team championships hosted at major league ballparks, and the 2011 Pitch, Hit and Run National Finals hosted during July at Major League Baseball's All-Star Week in Phoenix, Ariz.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. Contestants will be able to register onsite prior to the event.
