Southwest Greenways Master Plan Presentation at Public Meeting
Thursday February 16, 2012
Metro Parks will host a public meeting on Monday, March 5, to present the Southwest Greenways master plan. The meeting will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Fairdale Playtorium, 10616 W. Manslick Road.
The Southwest Greenways is a proposed trail system that will connect neighborhoods in the southwest to existing and future segments of the Louisville Loop recreational trail, historic and cultural sites, parks and natural areas, schools, community facilities, and business districts, providing a transportation network that may be used for recreation or commuting. The system will accommodate pedestrians and cyclists while exploring new opportunities for equestrians, paddlers and mountain bikers.
A series of public meetings seeking input from citizens were held throughout 2011 to develop the master plan. The March 5th public meeting will present the finalized plan and offer an opportunity for questions and answers.
