Since its incorporation in late 2005, the Foundation has helped achieve more than $2.5 million in improvements to Louisville’s parks, conservation areas and recreation programs, including:

• the purchase of a 95-acre property near Fern Creek that will become home to a new community center designed for people with disabilities.
• the purchase and preservation of a 5-acre wooded property in the Clifton Heights area.
• a permanent conservation easement on a 31-acre property near U.S. 42.
• funding for a master planning effort in the Jefferson Memorial Forest.
• a pottery program at Beechmont Community Center.

After working quietly for more than two years, a full board of directors was appointed in spring 2008; the board is currently developing a strategic plan to guide the organization’s work to improve Louisville’s parks and recreation facilities.
