Recreation on the Go

 

Metro Parks can now bring recreational programs to your school, church, residential facility or neighborhood. We provide the staff, the supplies and the fun! Choose from this list of great programs, or call us to discuss a custom-designed program to meet your needs. All of these programs will work best with 10 to 15 participants.

Beginning Juggling
Juggling is a fast-paced exercise that relies on skill and hand-eye coordination. Let us teach you the basics! Participants will juggle instruments and perform a showcase at the end of the program!

Beginning Sewing
Show off your creativity - and avoid paying department store prices forever! Learn how to use a sewing machine, make basic clothing repairs, and create four projects to keep!

Birthday Party
Are you worried about organizing the entertainment, and cleaning up the mess afterward? Let us host that birthday party for you at one of our 17 community centers.

Ceramics
This class will teach the process of creating ceramics pieces, from pouring molds to the final glazing process. Class includes instruction on popular painting and glazing techniques.

Chess/Checkers
These age-old games involve critical thinking and strategy. We can teach you to be several moves ahead of the competition! Learn the game while being involved in a friendly competition.

Creature Feature: Bugs
Our creepy-crawly friends aren't all bad! Overcome an apprehension of insects by learning their benefits, and how to identify them. Get hands-on experience with common insects.

Environmental Education
Learn about ecosystems, animal habitats, and the amazing biodiversity found in streams versus rivers. This program takes place at Otter Creek Park and includes a nature center tour.

Festival Fun
Whether your event is brand-new or established, Recreation On The Go can start you off on the right foot or help you take it to the next level. Let us help entertain your festival-goers!

Fitness Program
Get moving! Metro Parks' experienced recreation staff will lead your group in a full-body workout program starting off with warm-up and stretching. Increase your overall fitness level!

Field Day
The Summer Games may only come every four years, but Recreation on the Go can bring them to your organization at any time. Let Metro Parks factilitate your field day event!

Story Telling
Unleash the performer within your child! Encourage children to read with our special story hour. Designed to help with reading skills, this program promotes the use of voice inflection.

Athletic Clinics/Tournaments
Metro Parks offers clinics and competitions that can improve your group's performance, strength, positive thinking and teamwork. Gain that competitive edge!

Arts and Crafts
Show off your creativity by having us teach your group how to make masks, a puppet, sculpture or even a painting. Spruce up your home with something you created!
