Lieutenant Colonel Troy Riggs started his law enforcement career with the Jefferson County Police Department in 1989. During his years of service, he has been a member of the Fugitive Unit, Crime Stoppers Unit, Special Projects Division, Public Information Office and the Press Secretary for the former Jefferson County Government.
On February 6, 2003, Chief Robert C. White promoted him to Major, making him the first Chief of Staff of the Louisville Metro Police Department.
On April 1, 2008, Riggs was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and is now the Commander of the Support Bureau.
Lieutenant Colonel Riggs has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Louisville and an EMBA from Sullivan University.
He is married with two sons.
