Chief Robert White promoted Darice Wiley to Major on February 6, 2003. She became a member of the first Command Staff of the newly merged Louisville Metro Police Department. Major Wiley's first assignment was the Commander of the Second Division. Major Darice Wiley now commands the Eighth Division.

Major Wiley's past assignments include the former Charlie District, Crimes Against Children Unit, River Patrol Unit, D.A.R.E. in the Jefferson County Public Schools, night commander in the former Baker District, supervisor in the Domestic Violence Unit, police instructor and member of the Hostage Negotiation Team.

Major Wiley attended Jefferson Community College and is presently completing her degree at the University of Louisville. She is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute.
