Major David Ray is currently assigned as the Commander of the Major Crimes Division.

He was hired by the Louisville Division of Police in 1988.

He was previously assigned to CIS, David District, and the former First, Second, Third and Fifth Districts. In 2005, Major Ray was assigned as the Commander of the Fourth Division. After the Fourth Division, he was assigned to command the Special Investigations Division.

Major Ray is a graduate of the University of Louisville, the Southern Police Institute and the FBI National Academy.
