Major Ed Burgin

Major Ed Burgin

Major Ed Burgin began his law enforcement career with the Jefferson County Corrections Department in 1987. He was hired by the Louisville Division of Police in 1989. Before merger, Major Burgin worked in the First and Fifth Districts as well as the Street Crimes Unit and the Professional Standards Unit. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2001.

After merger, Major Burgin served as the Compstat Coordinator for the Louisville Metro Police Department. He also worked in the Seventh and Second Divisions. He was promoted to the rank of major in August 2006 and commanded the Second Division. Major Burgin now commands the Administrative Services Division.

Major Burgin is married with 2 kids.
