Major Michael Sullivan is currently assigned as the Commander of the Seventh Division.
Sullivan began his law enforcement career with the Louisville Division of Police (LPD) in 1994. He has worked in the Chief’s Office, the Special Investigations Division, the Narcotics/Intelligence Division, the 1st, 6th and 7th Divisions, the former 2nd, 5th, 6th and David Districts and the Street Crimes Unit.
Sullivan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Administration and a Master’s Degree in the Administration of Justice from the University of Louisville. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s Administrative Officers Course and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy.
In 2011, he was selected to attend the Target/International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Law Enforcement Business Fellowship. The Fellowship exposed him to the business practices of a Fortune 50 company and how their business practices can be translated into the public sector.
