Major Rodney Milburn

Major Rodney MilburnMajor Rodney Milburn began his law enforcement career in 1974 as a cadet with the Jefferson County Police Department (JCPD). With the JCPD, Milburn served as a patrolman, detective, sergeant, lieutenant and captain. His assignment's included the former Adam, Baker, Charlie and David Districts, the Fraud Unit, the Crimes Against Children Unit, the Homicide Unit, the Robbery Unit and the Sex Offense Unit. In 1992, Major Milburn served as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police. In 1994, he was appointed to the rank of lieutenant colonel and served as the Operations Commander. In 2002, Milburn, serving as a captain, commanded the former Charlie District.

Milburn served on the JCPD SWATT for 16 years and was the commander of the team for 2 years.

Upon merger of the Jefferson County Police Department and the Louisville Division of Police, Milburn was promoted to major in the Louisville Metro Police Department and was assigned to the Fifth Division in February 2003. In 2005, Major Milburn was assigned to oversee the Administrative Division. In 2007, he began in his present assignment as  the commander of the Special Operations Division.
