Major Todd Felty is currently assigned as the Commander of the Eighth
Police Division.
He began his law enforcement career in 1997 with the Louisville Division of Police.
Prior to merger, Felty served as a patrol officer in the former First, Third and Fifth Districts and as a detective in the former White Collar Crime Squad. Since merger, Felty has served as a detective in the Sex Crimes Squad and a sergeant in the Third Division, Fourth Division Flex and the Sex Crimes Squad. He was a lieutenant in the First Division and the Special Victims and Financial Crimes Unit. In the summer of 2010, Felty served as the commander of the Violent Crime Reduction Task Force.
In 2002, Felty received a Certificate of Merit from the Louisville Board of Alderman for his service to the community.
Major Felty holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisville.
