Major Troy Pitcock is currently assigned as the Commander of the Special Investigations Division.
He began his law enforcement career in 1989
with the Jefferson County Police Department.
Pitcock served in the former Baker District, Narcotics Unit and as a detective in the former Charlie District.
After merger, Pitcock served as a sergeant in the former Sixth District, First Division, Public Integrity Unit and Homicide Unit. In 2008, he was promoted to lieutenant and served in the Third Division and Public Integrity Unit. After being promoted to the rank of major, Pitcock commanded the Second Division. He was a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team and as assistant commander of the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT). He is a Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC)certified instructor.
Major Pitcock is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute and Criminal Justice Executive Development. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville.
Pitcock is the recipient of five Meritorious Unit Citations.
