On January 2, 2011, Ozzy Gibson was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police and commands the Administrative Bureau.

He began his law enforcement career in 1989 with the Louisville Division of Police (LPD).

He served in the former First, Third, Fourth and Fifth Districts. He also was a member of the LPD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team  for eight (8) years.

Under the newly merged Louisville Metro Police Department, he served in the Third, Fourth and Eighth Divisions. He commanded the First Division. 

Assistant Chief of Police Gibson has a degree in Business Operations.

He is married and has three sons.
