Major Ozzy Gibson began his law enforcement career in 1989 with the Louisville Division of Police (LPD). He served in the former First, Third, Fourth and Fifth Districts.

Under the newly merged Louisville Metro Police Department, he served in the Third, Fourth and Eighth Divisions. He is now the Commander of the First Division.

Major Gibson has spent his entire career in the patrol divisions. He also was a member of the LPD Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWATT) for eight years.

Major Gibson has a degree in Business Operations. He is married with three sons.
