The Louisville Metro Police Department's Community Relations Unit is responsible for providing community based police services to the citizens of our city. These services include the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program (D.A.R.E.), the Police Athletics/Activities League (PAL), the Volunteers in Police Services program, Louisville's Most Wanted, Louisville Law and Order and Neighborhood Watch. In addition, the Community Relations Unit is responsible for coordinating Citizens Police Academies throughout the year and also works in partnership with the Jefferson County Public Schools and Kosair Hospital to staff Safety City. Finally, the unit is responsible for maintaining and coordinating the department's "Got Crime!" campaign by monitoring the 574-LMPD (5673) or toll free 1-866-649-4479 "24 hour" tip phone line and all quick tip information cards for the entire police department.
