The Police Athletic / Activities League of Louisville, founded in 2000, is a crime prevention program that relies on recreation, athletic and educational activities to build a positive relationship between police officers, youth and the community. The mission of Louisville PAL is to focus on inner city and at risk youths between the ages of 5 to 18 who need positive values in their lives, a sense of achievement, increased discipline and an improved sense of self worth. Police officers and community volunteers provide leadership, dedication and friendship to the youth in Louisville PAL programs. By fostering an atmosphere of mutual interests, respect and trust between law enforcement officers and our youth, PAL hopes to reduce crime, violence and substance abuse.

In October 2005, Louisville PAL launched its own website, www.louisvillepal.org, to publish information about current and future PAL programs. The site is also used to maintain current standings of PAL sports leagues.

Louisville PAL is a member of the National Police Athletic Association which includes over 350 PAL member chapters in law enforcement. You may contact the National PAL Office at www.nationalpal.org.
