The Telephone Reporting Unit (TRU) is a fast, efficient way to file a police report. When you dial 574-4661, you will be connected to a trained professional reporting technician who will take your report. You will be given a police report number for your records.


TRU is available Monday - Friday from 6 am until Midnight.


TRU will take the following incident reports:

• Theft reports with a total value under $10,000 - except for thefts involving controlled substances
• Harassment and harassing communications (other than domestic violence)
• Misdemeanor assault and intimidation (other than domestic violence)
• Auto theft/unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
• Theft of motor vehicle registration plates and decals
• Thefts other than shoplifting
• Crimes involving fraud, forgery, identity theft or criminal possession of a forged instrument
• Criminal mischief under $10,000
• Lost or missing property
• Any type of miscellaneous report (other than domestic violence)
• Follow-up reports to previously reported incidents

If you have a potential suspect or name or you witness suspicious activity, call MetroSafe at 574-7111. An officer can be dispatched to either take a report or cruise the area and interview any subjects fitting the description.
