The Property Room is open from 8 am until 4 pm, Monday through Friday. The Property Room is located at 635 Industry Road. Their phone number is (502) 574-2410.


PERSONAL PROPERTY

To get your personal property from the Property Room, you will need your picture ID. If the personal property is a gun, you will need your picture ID and ownership papers. If you do not have ownership papers, you will need a notarized letter stating that you are the owner along with serial number, brand and make.


FOUND PROPERTY

If you have lost your property and it has been turned into the Property Room, you will need your picture ID. A disposal officer will need to release this property to you after determining that the property is yours.


PROPERTY THAT IS EVIDENCE

If your property is being held as evidence in a case, you will need either the disposal officer to give written authorization to the Property Room to release your property or a court order stating that your property can be released. You will need your picture ID to pick up your property. If the property is a gun, you will need ownership papers or a notarized  letter stating that you are the owner along with the serial number, brand and make.


CASH

If you have cash in the Property Room, you will need to have your picture ID. Once you get to the Property Room, you must sign a voucher.  The Property Room personnel will counter-sign the voucher. Cash can only be released to the owner or their attorney with a court order. If the cash was found property, please see above. The voucher is turned into Louisville Metro Finance who will then issue a check in 7 - 10 working days. The Property Room does not return cash. A check must be issued.
