The Louisville Metro Police Department is staffed 24 hours a day for your assistance and protection. They are available 7 days a week all year long by calling 9-1-1.
How to Report
If the crime occurred on campus, you can contact the police to report the crime. Then, report the crime to the Louisville Education Center Campus Security Authority.
In any event, if the crime is an emergency situation that would require immediate police and/or medical response, merely dial 9-1-1.
Reporting Crimes in Progress
If you are a victim or a witness to any in-progress criminal offense, protect yourself first. Report the incident as soon as possible. You should attempt to provide as much of the following information as possible.
Nature of the incident. MAKE SURE the officer/dispatcher understands that the incident is in progress!
Location of the incident.
Description of the suspects involved.
Injuries that have occurred.
Description of any weapons involved.
Description of property involved.
Stay on the line with the officer/dispatcher until help arrives. Keep the officer/dispatcher updated on any changes so responding units can be updated. Even if you can not communicate, keep the line open. The officer/dispatcher may be able to learn more about what is happening.
