Salary for Recruits/Lateral While in Training:

Salary for Laterals After Training:
1 year of experience - $38,084.80 plus state incentive** plus uniform and equipment allowance***
2 - 3 years - $44,449.60 plus $3,100 state incentive** plus uniform and equipment allowances***
4 years and over - $45,323.20 plus $3,100 state incentive** plus uniform and equipment allowances*** |
Pension/Retirement:
Employees are eligible for retirement after 25 years of sworn service. |

Employee and dependent life insurance for spouse and children are available. Plans vary as to cost. |

Salary Progression:
The Fraternal Order of Police, through its collective bargaining agreement with the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government, negotiates salary progression. |
