To text your tips anonymously to the LMPD, please use the following steps:

• Text your tips to 274-637 (CRIMES)
• In the body of the text, type "Tip563". This routes the tip to the LMPD.
• Follow "Tip563" with your text tip.

The tip goes to the Citizen Observer website where the number is scrambled so that the tipster remains anonymous. Using this system allows the LMPD to text the tipster back, even though the tipster is anonymous, to get more information.
