THE COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT PROJECT
The Community Empowerment Project (UME) creates opportunities to maximize existing partnerships, identify new partners, consolidate combined resources and stimulate the economy to elevate the quality of services provided to the citizens of Louisville Metro who reside in impoverished areas.

PATHWAYS IN ACTION, EXPANSION
Pathways in Action was designed to meet the need of inmates transitioning out of community corrections or jail facilities who otherwise would be released with little or no job readiness, education, or life skills.

SAFETY NET EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership is dedicated to providing emergency assistance to its most vulnerable residents within the community. Temporary assistance for housing or utilities are essential in assuring that families are able to meet basic needs while employed or seeking employment.
Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership will partner with Louisville Metro Human Services, located in eight (8) geographically dispersed Neighborhood Places to provide emergency assistance and follow-up services to residents in crisis. This partnership supports CAP by increasing assistance in the neighborhoods with the highest percentage of residents living in poverty.

MOVING FORWARD
Moving Forward is the program in the stimulus plan that allocates money for specialized training, wage subsidies and living allowances for job trainees/seekers. LMCAP will meet the needs of dislocated, unskilled and difficult to employ populations who are most impacted by the downturn of the economy. LMCAP will offer the following training programs in 2010: EMT, CNA, CDL, and dental assistant.

“SHARE AND SHARE ALIKE”
Share and Share Alike is a partnership between Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership and Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C), a non-profit Metro United Way agency dedicated to improving the quality, availability, and accessibility of child care and early childhood development programs. Primarily child care subsidies were awarded to working families; however, this partnership opens up the eligibility to individuals attending post-secondary education, seeking employment, and additional populations.

Jefferson County residents who meet 200% or below of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may be eligible for these programs.
