A new neighborhood association has formed near Dixie Highway in southwest Louisville.

The Oak Lea Neighborhood Association is bounded by Ronnie Avenue to the north, Lower Hunters Trace Road to the south, Oak Lea Drive on the east, and Tahia Drive on the west, according to a release from the Metro Department of Neighborhoods.

Diane Schraut was elected its first president.

"I'm excited about the Oak Lea Neighborhood Association," Schraut said in the release.†"I'm looking forward to working with everyone to ensure that our neighborhood stays as it has been for 35 plus years. When a problem arises the results are better accomplished when you work together as a group."

The group will hold quarterly meetings, and its next is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 16 at the at the Southwest Government Center, 7219 Dixie Highway.

Anyone interested in more information about the association can contact Schraut at dschraut@insightbb.com.
