Proposed Agreed Board Order with Swift

Notice of Public Comment Period and Hearing

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control Board opened a public comment period on November 12, 2008, on a proposed Agreed Board Order with Swift Pork Company, d/b/a Swift & Company. Swift & Company is alleged to have violated District Regulations 5.15 (Chemical Accident Prevention Provisions), 2.17 (Federally Enforceable District Origin Operating Permits), 2.03 (Permit Requirements—Non-Title V Permits), 1.07 (Excess Emissions), and 1.13 (Control of Objectionable Odors), at the facility located at 1200 Story Avenue.

Written comments from the public were accepted by the Board, Joe Schweinhart, Secretary-Treasurer, 850 Barret Ave., Louisville, KY 40204-1745, until 5:00 p.m. November 18, 2008. Written comments were also accepted electronically until the same deadline via the Internet at the e-mail address “airorders @ louisvilleky.gov”. Oral comments were accepted at the public hearing on November 19, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board Room, 850 Barret Ave, Louisville.
