Tuesday May 22, 2007
An Air Quality Alert has been declared for Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23, 2007 for the Louisville area.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) is an index for reporting daily air quality. It tells you how polluted your outdoor air is, and what associated health effects might be a concern for you.
Ground level ozone is expected to reach an AQI level of 111 on both days. At this level, the air is expected to be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Sensitive groups include active children and adults, and people with lung diseases, such as asthma. These groups should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
