Director Justin Scally of Metro Animal Services to highlight first District 12 Dialogue of 2012
Wednesday December 21, 2011
Councilman Rick Blackwell (D-12) announces the first District Dialogue of 2012. Councilman Blackwell has made it a critical point to be accessible to his constituents, and wants to continue that by continuing the successful District Dialogues.
The District Dialogues are an opportunity for residents of District 12 to talk with Councilman Blackwell, as well as, other important constituent services agencies.
Justin Scally, Director of Metro Animal Services will be the Guest Speaker. The past few years have seen quite a public response in regards to the management of the department and in 2011 Mayor Fischer appointed Director Scally to take the lead in correcting those issues.
"I recently visited the shelter on Manslick to check its status.” says Blackwell. “I am looking forward to Director Scally sharing his vision for the agency with southwest constituents."
Councilman Blackwell co-sponsored the No-kill Louisville Resolution calling on LMAS to move away from euthanizing healthy, non-threatening animals.
In addition to Director Scally, the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD), Department of Inspections, Permits, and Licensing (IPL), and a representative from Congressman John Yarmuth’s office will be on hand to answer questions and concerns.
The District Dialogue will be held in the Southwest Government Center Court Room at 7219 Dixie Highway on January 17, 2012 starting at 7 p.m. All Southwest Louisville residents are invited to attend.
