Storm Debris—What do I do with it?

Monday February 2, 2009

  • Beginning Feb. 9, storm debris is being picked up curbside throughout Louisville (only once at each address).  See the details and status.  You can call 311 for more information.
  • Rent a chipper/shredder to turn branches and trees into usable mulch for your yard.
  • Contact a contractor to remove it. Please be patient, they are very busy.
  • The fire departments cannot allow anyone to burn, so please let them do their real job of keeping you safe. Don’t inundate them with requests about open burning.

Remember!  Burning your storm debris to dispose of it is prohibited!  Open burning regulations do not allow disposal of yard waste or storm debris by burning.  For more information about outdoor fires, visit our website or call (502) 574-6000.
