Public Hearing on Proposed Permit for American Synthetic Rubber Company

Between August 1, 2011, and August 30, 2011, the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (APCD) held a public comment period on a construction permit issued in accordance with Regulation 2.03 for Phase 1 of a project to convert from using toluene as an organic solvent to using a mixture of cyclohexane and methylcyclohexane for the production of all polybutadiene rubber and styrene butadiene rubber by American Synthetic Rubber Company, 4500 Campground Road, Louisville, KY 40216.
The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control Board is scheduling a public hearing on this proposed permit on October 11, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. in the Ballroom, Memorial Auditorium, 970 South 4th Street, Louisville, KY 40203, in accordance with Regulations 1.08 and 2.07. Oral statements will be accepted at the public hearing.
The draft permit is available for review at APCD’s office, 850 Barret Ave., Louisville, KY 40202, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, by calling Paul Aud at (502) 574-7234. An electronic copy of the proposed permit is also available on APCD’s website at “www.louisvilleky.gov/APCD/Docket.htm”.
