County Attorney Irv Maze Awarded
Department of Defense Support Recognition

The U.S. Department of Defense recognized County Attorney Irv Maze today in a special presentation.

The award honors Mr. Maze’s support of the 198th MP Headquarters Battalion now serving in Afghanistan. His office helped make possible the return of the unit from training for Christmas last year.

In the week prior to the unit’s activation, Law Clerk Brandon Yarbrough, a captain in the 198th, passed the Kentucky Bar Exam. Maze made special arrangements to have Yarbrough sworn in by Kentucky Supreme Court Judge Martin Johnstone, and then promoted him to assistant county attorney before his departure.

When Captain Yarbrough returns next year, he will assume the duties of prosecutor for the county attorney’s office.

The certificate presented  by Captain Yarbrough’s wife, Amanda, and his daughter Taylor.

Amanda and Taylor Yarbrough presented a Department of Defense award to County Attorney Irv Maze for his service to the 198th Battalion Headquarters Company now serving in Afghanistan. Assistant County Attorney Brandon Yarbrough is serving with the unit, which just began its year-long tour of duty.
