Louisville, KY – Councilmen Ken Fleming (District 7), Glen Stuckel (District 17) and Kelly Downard (District 16) invite everyone to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the interchange at the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and Westport Road. The ceremony will take place on the northeast ramp of the interchange on Thursday, April 29 at 10:45 a.m. Officials representing local, state and federal government will be present at the ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of this major piece of the Westport Road expansion.

In addition to the planned ribbon cutting ceremony, members of the Metro Council representing the area along Westport Road are inviting everyone to a post ribbon-cutting reception, which will take place at Westport Village immediately following the opening of the ramps. Councilmen Fleming, Stuckel and Downard working with Westport Village, Amazing Green Planet, Les Filles and the Comfy Cow will host a celebration for everyone.

“This project has been responsible for rejuvenating Westport Road. We have seen major investments in older shopping centers, new businesses located nearby and improved pedestrian mobility along this busy corridor of Louisville Metro. This celebration brings people together to commemorate the completion of a major portion of the Westport Road expansion and the new energy this project has brought to the area.”
– Councilman Ken Fleming (District 7)

“Westport Village is definitely "the" place to shop & dine right now but this interchange opening will catapult us to the next level by making it so easy to get here. I know all the shop owners have a big smile on their face and we're ready for the flood gates to open!"
 – Melissa Murphy Willis (Owner ,  Les Filles Boutique in Westport Village)
