Louisville – As families gather for the District 3 Holiday Party on December 16th, they will get a chance to help those less fortunate for the holiday season.
“I think it is great when we can get together and have some holiday cheer,” says Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D) 3. “But we also need to remember those less fortunate.”
The Holiday Party is set for December 16th at the Hill Street Baptist Church, 2203 Dixie Highway.
“I would like to ask those families who are going to attend to bring some canned goods or any non-perishable items to donate for Dare to Care,” says Woolridge.
Dare to Care is a program that began operating in Louisville in 1971. In 2004 alone more than 1.6 million pounds of food where donated to help the hungry and needy families of Metro Louisville.
“We have partnered with Dare to Care for many years now, and it is a partnership I am very proud of,” says Woolridge.
