Center for Health Equity to Sponsor Planning Forum for West End

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (April 16, 2007) The Center for Health Equity at the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, in conjunction with the Community Farm Alliance, the Kentucky Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, Kentucky Jobs with Justice, the Muhammad Ali Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of Louisville, the Rubbertown Emergency Action Network, the Sierra Club, and state representative Reginald Meeks will sponsor a community forum entitled The West End Vision III.
The event will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Healing Place located at 1020 W. Market Street.
This is the third in a series of community forums. The first two forums focused on arriving at a shared vision of the future of west Louisville. This session will focus on action strategies to impact the areas of community empowerment, crime, economic development, healthcare, and youth engagement.
The meeting is open to the general public. Representatives from community and neighborhood organizations are also encouraged to attend. The event is free, but registration is requested. To register or for more information, phone 574-6616.
