Metro Parks Celebrates Labor Day and New Clubhouse With Affordable Family Golfing

Friday September 2, 2011

To celebrate the new clubhouse at Charlie Vettiner golf course and to encourage local families to visit their municipally-owned golf courses, Metro Parks is offering an affordable family golfing package at its nine golf courses during Labor Day weekend and extending its $3 coupon discount.

For only $20, a family of up to four members can play nine holes at any Metro Parks course. The $20 includes greens and cart fees, and families can take advantage of the deal after 4:30 p.m. on three days: Saturday, September 3; Sunday, September 4 and Monday, September 5.

“This is fast becoming one of our most popular promotions at our golf courses,” said Metro Parks Director Mike Heitz. “Bringing the family together to enjoy the game of golf is a great way to celebrate Labor Day weekend.”

The previous $3 discount that was offered in August will be extended for use during the month of September. Golfers can download a coupon, redeemable at any of Metro Parks’ nine public golf courses, at http://www.louisvilleky.gov/MetroParks/golf/golfspecials.htm.

“It won’t be long before old man winter arrives,” said Metro Parks Assistant Director Marty Storch, “We want to give people incentive to get in as much golf as they can while the weather is still good.”

The discount coupon can be applied for tee times made weekdays between the hours of noon and 4 p.m., and on weekends from 2-4 p.m. The purchase of an 18-hole round with a cart rental is required for the full discount.
