It happens more often than many homeowners might realize. One day, the quiet house down the street surrounded by Police and a HazMat team. And word spreads through the neighborhood: a meth lab has been discovered.
What are the dangers involved to property and family?
“Too many people are just unaware of what might be right next door to them,” says Councilwoman Marianne Butler (D) 15. “Meth 101 is a way to understand how to protect yourself and your family while helping Metro Police.”
Butler is sponsoring a free seminar on Tuesday, July 9th at 7:00pm at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, 1850 Bluegrass Avenue.
Meth 101 is an introduction into all aspects of the drug methamphetamine. It will cover the effects of the drug and more importantly how meth is made. The course will also cover the dangers associated with using the drug and its manufacture.
“Metro Police continue to fight the problem of meth labs in our neighborhoods,” says Butler. “I also want to thank St. Mary’s & Elizabeth for partnering with us in this effort. The officials there know all to well about treating the side effects of meth.”
