Louisville – Councilman David James (D-6) and Councilwoman Marianne Butler (D-15) are issuing an important reminder for those who are following the Fourth Street Improvement Project. The next community meeting on the project is set for Monday, September 30th at 5:30pm.
“This meeting will be an update on where the project stands and how it will move forward in our effort to improve the southern part of Fourth Street,” says James. “The public will have an opportunity to see how their input has been reviewed to form the revitalization plan for the area.”
James, Butler and Louisville Metro Office of Economic Growth and Innovation will host the next meeting at Churchill Downs, 700 Central Avenue in the Derby Room of the Jockey Club Suites., (enter at Gate I for Parking)
The project’s goal is to improve Fourth Street between Industry Road and Central Avenue based on the recommendations of the University Corridor Redevelopment Study and prior meeting of community input.
“The University Corridor is one of our oldest corridors and this plan is designed to revitalize and restore economic development to an area that once thrived,” says Butler. “As we move forward it is important that the people who live and work along this corridor have an understanding of the direction we are moving in to ensure all of Fourth Street is successful.”
