LOUISVILLE - District 17 Councilman Glen Stuckel would like to announce the start of construction improvements at Hounz Lane Park. The construction at the 24-acre park started recently and is scheduled to be completed by October of this year. The work at Hounz Lane Park (located off of Hurstbourne Parkway near Tom Sawyer Park) is a result of the establishment of a master plan for the park through the work of his office, Metro Parks and many of the citizens who use the park. The renovation of Hounz Lane Park has been separated into 4 phases, with enough funding allocated in the past three Fiscal Year budgets to pave and resurface old and new parking areas, install additional walkways, replace deteriorating bridges and construct a picnic shelter. Approximately $260,000 has been appropriated for the improvement and renovation of Hounz Lane Park. This funding represents one of the largest investments into the improvement of this park since its establishment in 1958. A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated portions of the park will be announced once all work has been concluded. For more information on the improvements planned for Hounz Lane Park please contact District 17 Councilman Glen Stuckel at 574-1117. # # #
