Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge has announced $44,000 will soon be used to repave five alleys in District 3.
“Public safety is one of my top priorities for the District,” says Woolridge. “We have undertaken a major effort in making our streets safer and easier for residents. This repaving is part of that effort.”
The alleys to be paved are: 1300 block of Olive Street, $10,000; 1600 block South 32nd Street, $10,000; 1600 block of Algonquin Parkway, $6,500; 1200 block of Dixie Highway, $10,000 and the area between St. Louis and 2300 block of Wilson Avenue.
“Cleaning up alleys and making these areas safe was the focus of our attention during last year’s budget process,” says Woolridge. “We are making progress in address some areas that need the most attention”
The repaving will get underway within the next few weeks.
