When students at Foster Traditional Academy go to school on Friday, February 1st, they will have a new principal to greet them at the door.
“I am looking forward to meeting students, parents and teachers as part the National Principal for a day program,” says Councilwoman Judith Green (D) 1. “I think we all need to see first hand what the learning environment is for children and being a principal is instrumental in the effort.”
The Principal for a day programs afford community leaders a chance to shadow the principal for a day designed to help participants understand the rewards and rigors of being the principal.
“I believe this program will result in me having a greater appreciation and respect for schools, teachers and principals and this opportunity will build lasting benefits for all persons who participate.
Foster’s regular Principal Susan Quinlan will be on hand to assist Green as she runs the school for one day. There will be tours of classes and a chance to see the resources available to children and families in the Jefferson County Public Schools system.
Foster Academy is located at 1401 South 41st Street. To learn more about the program, call the school at 485-8253. To learn more about Foster Academy , you can go on line to : http://www.jefferson.k12.ky.us/Schools/Elementary/Foster.html
