Drivers, runners and walkers will see something new at several intersections in Old Louisville. It is something to enhance the esthetics of a neighborhood that is already considered unique, quaint and historic.

“I think it is a project that everyone will be pleased with,” says Councilman George Unseld (D-6). “We call it Sixth District Shine.”

On Tuesday, April 28 at 10:30AM, Architectural Salvage will install three beautiful 80 inch tall gold urns on three corners of 4th & Oak. Foliage and flower will be planted in the urns which will be maintained by Dismas.

Councilman Unseld will be on hand to watch the first of the urns being installed.

“This is just the beginning and I am hopeful there will be other groups who would like to get involved in this project,” says Unseld.

The project includes adding 24 more urns at intersections including; 4th & St. Catherine, 4th & Oak, 6th & Oak to 3rd & Oak. The idea is to create a gateway to the business area.

For more information about the project, contact Councilman Unseld’s office at 574-1106.
