Louisville – Old Louisville will once again host a fun event of music and entertainment for all of Metro Louisville when Summerfest 2014 kicks off this Friday night in one of the area’s most unique and historic neighborhoods.
“This is a special weekend of fun where Old Louisville encourages everyone to just come out , kick back and enjoy themselves as the summer gets underway,” says Councilman David James (D-6).
For the last two years, Summerfest has filled the 1200 to 1330 block of First Street and East and West block of Ormsby will music and fun for all ages. It will begin at 5:00pm on Friday and last until 10:30pm. Then resume on Saturday from 12:30pm until 10:30pm.
The event will feature the following:
· Kosair Kids Zone – to help raise funds for children in need, we’re proud to offer an entire area for the kids to learn, play and sing!
· “Parisian Flea Market” - Several local vendors and local associations will be on hand selling their unique wares and services… art, hard to find antiques, architectural remnants, fortunetelling, etc.
· Food, Food, Food! - This year will feature a "beer garden" with a beer / wine / bourbon tent and gourmet food trucks will be there for your culinary pleasure!
There will also be a wide range of music on First Street with a mix of street entertainment and local bands on both Friday and Saturday nights.
“Old Louisville is the perfect place to enjoy the weekend and great setting to enjoy Summerfest 2014,” says James. “And if it has been awhile since you have come down to this area, this is the perfect time to come visit us.”
