Green to be honored by the Metro Disability Coalition

Metro Councilwoman Judith Green (D-1) will join several honorees on Wednesday, December 16th for a very special event. The Metro Disability Coalition will present her with its 2009 Merit award for her work with disabled children.
“I am humbled to be receiving this honor for doing something that to me is so rewarding when it comes to caring for these children.” says Green.
Green will be honored at the “2009 Breaking Barriers Awards” which is set for Wednesday night December 16th at Trinity High School. Dinner will be at 6:00 pm followed by an Awards Ceremony at 7:00 pm.
She will receive the Merit Award because of her caring, loving, and nurturing nature, to all children including those with physical and mental disabilities. She has adopted 14 children over the past years.
Students from JCPS with disabilities will be honored at this event. Also, teachers who work with these young people on a daily basis will be honored.
“My experience has shown me that all children need love and more importantly a family,” says Green.
The Coalition will not only honor Green but joining her will be Rep John Yarmuth (Ky-3)for the Government Award; KY State Representative, Tom Reiner, Certification of Appreciation; and Honorable Judge David Holton, Achievement Award.
