Louisville, KY – Metro Council members Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D) 5 and James Peden (R) 23 will participate in a panel discussion at the August 9th luncheon meeting of the Louisville Forum. The topic of the forum is The Dog Days of Summer, Is the local dog ordinance more bark than bite.  Pam Rodgers, of the Human Society of the United State along with Glen Price, an attorney for the Louisville Kennel Club will also serve on the panel.

Councilwoman Hamilton is sponsoring an ordinance that would deal with dangerous dogs and pit bulls in the Metro area.  As chairman of the Government Administration Committee, Councilman Peden created a task force to hear from all sides on the issue and come back to the committee with a final product.

The Dangerous Dog Task Force has its finished work, and is expected to be reviewed by the committee at the next regular meeting of the Government Administration Committee, August 21, 2006.
