Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh invites residents of the Ninth District to attend the annual Ninth District Spring Community Forum on Tuesday, April 12th. Ward-Pugh is partnering with EDGE Outreach this year to host a shoe drive in conjunction with the community forum. Residents can donate their new or used shoes for lifesaving, clean drinking water for people in development countries. The types of shoes accepted will be adult and children - tennis shoe, ladies flats or pumps, hiking boots, work boots, flip flops, ice skates/roller skates, just about anything that is worn on your feet can be taken as long as the top part of the shoe is still attached to the sole. Try to keep the pairs together either by tying the laces together, buckle the straps together, tie them together with string, zip tie or rubber bands. Your donation is tax deductable and a representative from EDGE will be at the meeting from 5:30 – 6:30 pm to accept donations.
The Ninth District Annual Spring Community Forum will take place at the Kentucky School for the Blind Auditorium, 1867 Frankfort Avenue, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Guest Speakers include: Dirk Gowin, Metro Public Works to provide an update on the Brownsboro Road Diet; Mark Adams, TARC; Wes Sydnor, MSD; Officer Jeff Artman, LMPD; Robert Kirchdorfer, Codes 7 Regulations; and Erika Nelson, Metro Parks.
“This is your opportunity to talk to me and other Metro Government officials about a problem or issue,” says Ward-Pugh. “We can do many things in government but it is important that the community have input in setting priorities or resolving problems in their neighborhood.”
If you have questions about the Community Forum, please contact Councilwoman Ward-Pugh’s office at 574-1109 or email email@example.com
