Metro Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge announces a first of its kind free event for residents of District 3. It’s an opportunity to receive free health information and at the same time talk over issues with Woolridge and representatives of Metro Government.
“The District 3 Healthy Living Expo and Community Meeting is a new approach to help the community,” says Woolridge. “I wanted to create something that helps families and individuals live a healthier life and at the same time give them the chance to talk things over with the people who represent them in government.”
The District 3 Health Living Expo and Community Meeting will be held at the Southern Star Family Life Center, 2308 Algonquin Parkway on Tuesday, October 5th. The event begins at 6:00pm.
The Expo will feature a wide range of information and screenings including: Food Sampling prepared by Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, Mental Alertness screening, Satin Hand Treatment, Chair Massages, Spine analysis, Free tooth brushes & Free tooth paste, Dental screenings, Glucose screening, Cholesterol screening, Blood pressure test, Special Needs medical equipment resource, Nutrition Consultants, Job Corp/Educational and job training resource, Cancer information, Kentucky Organ Donor Association and the Bone Marrow Donor group,
“While some folks will take advantage of these free services, I and other will be available to listen to any concern or hopefully address an issue that may be on your mind,” says Woolridge. “We will have key government agencies on hand available to answer any questions about services in Metro Louisville.”
Join Woolridge as part of the Community Meeting: Solid Waste Management, Inspection Permits & Licenses, Public Works Department, Louisville Metro Police, Louisville Fire and Rescue and the Louisville Public Health & Wellness Department
The Councilwoman has also issued an invitation to other representatives of the City of Shively including the Mayor and Shively Council Members, the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) and the Dixie Suburban Fire Department.
“I want to thank all those who have helped us make this a very special event,” says Woolridge. “I hope the public will take advantage of the opportunity. All of these health professionals are located in one place to help the people of District 3.”
