Public Health and Wellness Department to Offer Weight Control Series

Individuals interested in learning successful weight loss strategies, smart grocery shopping, light cooking, healthy eating on the go and how to deal with the common pitfalls of losing weight, can take advantage of a free series of classes being offered by the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness.
The classes will be held on three Saturdays in April: April 5 (10:00 am - 1:00 pm), April 12 (10:00 am-12:30 pm) and April 26 (10:00-11:30 am) at Quinn Chapel AME Church, 1901 West Muhammad Ali Blvd.
“This series of free classes can be very helpful to people who want to improve their health and lose weight,” said Margaret Heyn, a registered dietician with the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. “These weight control strategies have been proven to be successful.”
The class is free of charge and conducted by a registered dietitian. Participants will receive a body fat analysis as well as an individually calculated calorie level with a meal plan. Participants must register in advance by calling 574-6663.
