Mayor Abramson Praises ‘Community Budget,’ Collaboration With Metro Council Members
Thursday June 24, 2004
Mayor Jerry Abramson released the following statement regarding the 2004-2005 Louisville Metro Government budget adopted tonight by the Metro Council:
“This spending plan puts the best interests of the entire community at the forefront. Working together, we have set aside differences that often divide us to deliver for our citizens what is truly a community budget.
This budget maintains basic services, puts more police officers on our streets than ever before and dedicates millions of dollars to job growth and other critical needs - all without raising taxes. I applaud and thank my colleagues on the council for their resolve to work with me -- and with each other -- on a budget that continues to build a foundation for the future of our hometown.”
