Louisville – For twenty years, it has been one of the more colorful traditions in the Clifton/Crescent Hill area. On Saturday, April 7th, the 20th Annual Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade will get underway as a fun day for everyone. “I want to invite everyone to come out and stroll Frankfort Avenue as we celebrate what has become a fun tradition in District 9,” said Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh. “The Frankfort Avenue Business Association has once again planned a great event for friends and family.”
The Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade will get underway at 11:45am starting at Kennedy Avenue and ending at Haldeman Avenue at around 1:00pm. The 2012 Grand Marshall is a man who is no stranger to the Crescent Hill area because of his volunteer work. Jerry Fielden, President of the Crescent Hill Community Council, will join the Ester Bunny in leading the fun and fashion.
The District 9 Green Triangle and Ward-Pugh will also be participating in the parade with other sustainability groups. The group will be recycling items along the route.
“The great thing about this parade is anyone can participate,” said Ward-Pugh. “You only have to show up and have fun.”
This year’s Easter Parade will include the Shriners, antique cars, homemade family floats, Hwang’s Martial Artists, bagpipes, dance teams, the Talking Police Car, and the Sheriff Posse and more.
Motorist should be advised Frankfort Avenue will be closed from Kennedy Ave. to Haldeman Ave. during the parade.
