Louisville, KY – Members of the Metro Council’s Minority Caucus have asked the Mayor to veto the Animal Control Ordinance passed at the Tuesday, December 19, 2006 Metro Council meeting. Republicans on the council believe that the ordinance will have a detrimental economic impact on the community, violates the rights of responsible dog owners and that the ordinance subverted the committee process and possibly even state law leaving Metro government susceptible to significant legal challenges.

Members of the Minority Caucus are asking the mayor to send the ordinance back to the council so that all aspects of the law are given proper analysis and debate.
