Mike Kimmel, Deputy Director of the Waterfront Development Corporation, will be the special guest for this month’s District 12 Dialogue. It will be held at Greenwood Elementary School (5801 Greenwood Road) on Tuesday October 16th beginning at 7:00pm.

Metro Council President Rick Blackwell (D) is encouraging everyone to come out and learn more about the future of Riverview Park.

“There are great things coming to Southwest Jefferson County with the future of Riverview Park,” says Blackwell. “It’s an exciting plan, something the whole community can enjoy, not just District 12.”

Highlights of the current plan include better boat launching facilities, trails, ball fields, shelters, a large promenade for throwing Frisbees or flying kites and a “splash park” similar to the one at Waterfront Park.

“Residents have been clearly and loudly asking for better access to the river and better play areas for youngsters. We heard the message and the answers are coming.” says Blackwell.

Other Metro Government agencies will have representatives on hand to answer questions or concerns. A representative from Congressman John Yarmuth’s office will also attend.
