Louisville – In an effort to promote a safer city, Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge is encouraging residents of District 3 to attend the 23rd National Night Out with Metro Police.
“This is a chance for residents to meet with police and learn what is being done to fight crime,” said Woolridge who represents the District. “I want all residents to take an active role in helping us.”
The Second District of Metro Police will host the event at 3419 Bohne Avenue between 6:00pm to 9:00pm on August 1st, 2006.
There will be ice cream, displays for kids and police will also hand out crime prevention literature.
The Second District’s Resource Officer Frank Haridson will also be on hand to talk about the services his office provides.
“We want to make sure a partnership exists between the community and police officers,” said Woolridge. “This is an important way to achieve that goal.”
